People I Am Loving: Lotta Jansdotter

There are some big changes happening round here, of which more anon, and I’m desperately trying to get myself more organised.  My office (in a corner of our bedroom) has been a disaster area for a very long time now, and I’ve promised myself I’ll get it sorted by the end of the year.

I’ve been finding these pics of Lotta Jansdotter’s NYC atelier very inspirational. If you look closely there are so many little organisational tips and tricks in each one.

I love the hanging clipboards in this picture.

And as someone who can NEVER find scissors when she needs them, this picture below is dribblingly gorgeous.

Lotta has been a busy bunny recently.

Last month she launched a beautiful line of dishes and linens at NYC’s Fish’s Eddy, also available online.

And she’s just announced a range of beautiful fabric calendars, in all my favourite colours.  I may have to order one of each.

So I’m sort of back. My back is definitely getting better – getting the inflammation down with heat, ice, and Advil is helping; together with chiropractic, stretching out the hip joint, some gentle yoga and not sitting at my desk too much.

Thanks for all your tips and messages!

Hello Paola. Another intertaining post. I like the first photo and from a fashion standpoint, Lotta's wrap around scarf; a fashion statement I can never pull off as mine never lies flat and always looks like there's a large infant bundled inside.

And as for scissors, dream on. Pretty and perfectly displayed, yes, but around my house, unless they are tethered to the wall with an extendo-lesh, my husband and daughter will never return them to their appointed spot.

The organizer can organize all she wants in this home but only martial law will inforce civil obedience.

    Paola,

Just happened upon your blog and am thoroughly enjoying it...something I don't normally do. Anyway, hope your sciatica is better. I went through the same thing and it lasted about six months. Went to chiropractor, didn't help; deep tissue massage was helpful; had a TENS treatment that worked for several hours; stopped all exercise, except walking; bought 'Lose the Back Pain' and was very faithful to the program's stretching regimen..all to no avail. Bought an inversion table, which I found to be very helpful by getting blood supply to that area. After lots of laying on the couch, eventually, without any doctor intervention, I finally came out of it. I also discovered yoga during this time. My lower back pain still persisted, but that was nothing compared to the pain in my glute. Now, four years later I'm starting to get that feeling again in my glute...not good. The good news, however, is recently my lower back pain has disappeared. I think I know why. Good luck to you, but I honestly think it's something you have to work through on your own and it will go away.

You are totally right. When did the Minx get so big? You've taken a beautiful picture of her.

What captivating photos Paola. I had never even heard of Gulf Shores before (inveterate West Coaster here) and now would love to see for myself. I am very much interested in how this workshop changed you and your work, so please consider further posts about your experience.
